Piano Lessons

Most Comprehensive Piano Lessons in Portland

We take a holistic approach to teaching the piano that centers around popular method and theory books (Faber, Bastien, and Suzuki).

We emphasize counting, rhythm, technique, ear training, creativity, improvisation and music appreciation. In this way, students build a strong connection to the piano and are motivated to practice more.

To further encourage this growth, we include:

  • Additional repertoire pertaining to the student’s interest

  • Time for supported jamming

  • Learning songs by ear

  • Student composition (at all levels)

At the end of each school year, we discuss the student’s progress and set new goals for the next year.

Performance Opportunities Include

  • Biannual Formal Recitals

  • Monthly Mini Recitals

  • Biannual Rock Shows (through our UpStartRock program)

  • Open Mics

  • Student Demo Releases/Performances

  • Performances at Community Events
